JeremyStangroom.Com - Media/Events

Occasionally, I can be persuaded to do media-type things. For example:

  • Little Atoms - I was interviewed for an hour by the Little Atoms team at the beginning of August 2006.
  • One-Click Philosophy - a three part, Radio 1 show, aired in July 2005; Stephen Law and I were the resident philosophers.
  • World Service - in January 2006, Rabbi Julia Neuberger and I debated TPM's Battleground God activity on the Newshour programme.
  • Late Night Live - May 2005, Phillip Adam interviewed Ophelia Benson and I about our book The Dictionary of Fashionable Nonsense.

I have also been known to appear at public events; recently, for example:

  • A "Bookship Barnie" in 2005, organised by the Future Cities Project people.
  • A panel appearance, discussing "Localism vs. Democracy", at the Future of Community Festival in March 2006.
  • Chairing a debate on the "Suicide of the West" at the Institute of Contemporary Art in April 2006.
  • And another one in May 2006 on "Truth and Relativism".
  • A talk to Farnham Humanists Group on free-will and determinism at the end of October 2006.
