I’ve just posted a (somewhat caustic) response to a fairly egregious piece on something calling itself The Free Speech blog. Entertainingly, my comment is currently being held back for ‘moderation’!

For someone with a PhD in Political Sociology, that is a pretty fatuous observation. I don’t think you’ll find that Index on Censorship would take such an extreme position on freedom of speech that it is hypocritical of them to use a standard practice to prevent themselves from being defendants in a libel suit.

Oh do get a grip, Knightley.
1. I said it was entertaining.
2. Pre-moderation is hardly standard practice.
3. So long as they remove material that is (potentially) libelous then the chances of them being sued for something said in a comment is vanishingly small.
